Four centrally-funded IIITs already exist: IIIT- Allahabad, IIIT- Gwalior, IIIT- Jabalpur and IIIT- Kanchipuram. There are two other IIITs that have come up under PPP model: IIIT-Hyderabad & IIIT- Bangalore. It is worthwhile to note here that IIIT-Hyderabad has emerged as a unique brand similar to IITs.
